Siddons urges batters to play longer innings

Bangladesh batting coach Jamie Siddons urged the batters to convert good starts into big scores after the tourists were bundled out for 234 against West Indies in the first innings of the second Test.
Siddons admitted that 234 is not a good score on the St Lucia pitch and said they could have finished with a score of around 400.
“I thought we were a lot more patient today and left the ball well, which we worked on over the last week since the first Test where I thought we played at too many balls. They bowled really well today and we didn’t bat as long as we would’ve liked. 230 is not enough on that wicket,” Siddons said.
“We just need to bat longer. In Test cricket, you got to bat on for a long time. You got to be there at the end of the day and then we got to be batting on tomorrow. We are failing to do that at the moment,”.
