Famed Bangladesh’s golfer Siddikur Rahman advanced to joint 46th slot from 56th after the 2nd round of the ongoing Rio Olympic at Olympic Golf Course on Friday night (Bangladesh time).
Siddikur shared the 46th slot with three other golfers scoring overall three-over-par 145. Siddikur stayed 13 shots behind the leader Fraser Marcus of Australia who maintained the solo lead with 10-under-par 132.
In the 2nd round, Siddikur traded four sweet birdies and three bogies for scored one-under-par 70 while in the 1st round he played two birdies and six dismal bogies to score four-over-par 75.
Meanwhile, Siddikur was playing his 3rd round on Saturday till the filing of this report.
The 31-year-old double Asian Tour winner Siddikur became the first sportsman for the country to qualify for the Olympics on merit, an achievement which saw him become the Bangladesh contingent’s flag bearer in the opening ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.
