UNB, Pirojpur :A policeman of Boithakata Police Camp in Nazirpur upazila was suspended on Tuesday for negligence of duty over recording a case in connection with the gang rape of a schoolgirl.Police super of Pirojpur M Walid Hossain took the action against sub-inspector M Abdul Barek, in-charge of the police camp, said officer-in-charge of Nazirpur Police Station Nasiruddin Mallick.The OC said, the 14-year-old girl of Belua Mugarjor village in the upazila, was raped allegedly by two youths-Shariful and Mamun- three months back.Following the incident, victim’s father went to the Boithakata Police Camp for filing a case in this connection.However, SI Abdul Barek did not take proper steps to record the case. When the SP came to know about the incident, he asked OC Nasiruddin Mallick to investigate the allegation. The SI was suspended following the investigation report, added the OC.
