A sub-inspector of Biswanath Police Station has been withdrawn for threatening to ‘get a college girl raped’ at Janaiya Mashula village in Biswanath upazila.
Quamruzzaman has been closed to Sylhet Police Lines on Thursday night following a complaint
lodged by the victim against him, said M Shamsuddoha, officer-in-charge of the police station.
The victim submitted a written complaint to Assistant Superintendent of Police (Osmaninagar Circle) Quamrul Islam around 10pm on Thursday.
According to the complaint, a team of plainclothes police, led by SI Quamruzzaman, went to the girl’s house around 4pm on Thursday to investigate a complaint lodged by her stepmother Monwara Begum over a land dispute.
The SI along with his men entered the house without taking permission and started to rebuke the family members.
