Government has appointed Shyama Prosad Adhikari as Chief Engineer by replacing Md Wahidur Rahman of Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives on 11 December 2014.
Before joining as Chief Engineer, Shyama Prosad was Supervisor Engineer of LGED in 2010 and worked as Additional Chief Engineer in Urban Management, Integrated Water Resources Management, Preservation and Training sector since 2012. He received many professional training from home and abroad.
Shyama Prosad was graduated in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 1981 and obtained Post Graduate degrees in Environment Science, and Law.
He started his career as Assistant Engineer of Polli-Porto Karmasuchi in 1981 and worked there from 1981-1990, LGEB as Assistant Engineer and under LGED as Upazila Engineer in different upazilas of the country.
