Shuvagata claims 5/25 Mohammedan overcome Brothers Union in DPL

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited overcame Brothers Union Club by 54 runs in their match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground-4 in Savar on Tuesday.
Sent into bat first, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club piled up a satisfactory 206 in 49.4 overs and then shot out Brothers Union for a paltry 152 off 43.3 overs.
Opener Rony Talukdar of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited notched up a superb 58. His 60-ball innings was belted with 10 fours and one sixer.
Wicketkeeper-batter Zahiduzzaman remained unbeaten with 41. His 64-ball knock was decorated with two fours.
Mohammedan’s Pakistani recruit Mohammad Hafeez made 28 from 39 balls featuring three fours.
Former national cricketer Mohammad Ashraful of Brothers Union was his team’s most successful bowler. He claimed five wickets in the space of 23 runs.
Abu Hider bagged two wickets at the cost of 34 runs. Moin Khan, Aminul Islam and Irfan Hossain took one wicket each conceding 21, 24 and 44 runs respectively.
Later, Shuvagata Hom played the key role in demolishing Brothers Union’s innings. Shuvagata Hom of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club captured five wickets instead of 25 runs. Shuvagata Hom was adjudged the Man of the Match for his terrific bowling performance.
Nazmul Islam bagged two wickets at the cost of 28 runs.
Ariful Islam, Sohrawordi Shuvo and Hasan Mahmud took one wicket each for 14, 23 and 25 runs respectively.
Opener Imtiaz Hossain of Brothers Union hit a polished 42. His 65-ball innings was studded with three fours and a sixer.
Third-down Aminul Islam scored 36 using 79 deliveries with one four.
Number-6 batter Dhiman Ghosh made 32 from 45 balls including four.
