It is very much delightful news for the music lovers and listeners that once ‘jingle queen’ and listeners’ choice singer Shumona Haque is going to release her solo album based on modern songs after a break of 15 years.
The album titled Kichhu Smriti Kichhu Bedona will be released on the occasion of coming Pahela Baishakh. It will be third solo album by Shumona Haque.
She informed that there will be seven songs in the album. Tunes and music composition of these songs were done by Mumbai’s Jaspal Moni. Recording of these songs were completed in Mumbai, India. But who wrote lyrics of the songs yet not disclosed by Shumona.
She has kept surprise for listeners to mention the name of the lyricists of the songs of her new album. Already she had made music videos of four songs of the album.
The song titled Elo Boishakh will be telecasted in different satellite channels before one or two days of Pahela Boishakh, she said.
Later, rest three songs titled Sojoni jeona, Kichhu smriti kichhu bedona and Tomar-o aamai money porbeto jani will be also telecasted one after another, Shumona mentioned.
While talking about her returning to music arena after 15 years with a modern song based album Shumona Haque told this correspondent, “When I met my fans and music lovers in different programmes in different occasions they requested me to return to music. From that inspiration and own likings I have decided to release a new album comprising several new songs. But it cannot be said that after releasing the album I would become regular again in music industry with new way. In the meantime, I am also not giving any assurance to all to release any other my solo album in the long run. My efforts will become successful if the listeners will like the songs of my new album.”
It may be mentioned that acoustic instruments were used while composing all the songs of Shumona Haque’s new album.
Shumona Haque’s debut solo album titled Mayabi E Raatey was released in 1988.
After a break of 12 years, her second solo album titled Majhey Kichhu Bochhor Gelo was released.
Then after a break of 15 years she is coming with her third solo album this Boishakh.
In 2008, listeners got the opportunity to hear Tagore songs in Shumona’s voice in an album titled Tumi Robe Nirobey.
