Shujeo Shyam composes two new songs

Noted music composer and director of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, Shujeo Shyam has composed two new songs. Panna Lal Dutta wrote lyrics of these two songs. Manomay Bhattachrya and Nachiketa Chakraborty lent their voices for these two songs. Shujeo Shyam has already completed works of these songs. While talking in this regard Shujeo Shyam said, “Lyrics of these two songs are really nice. In my life, I composed tunes of many songs.
I don’t know why compositions of these two new songs have touched my mind. Both Manomay and Nachiketa rendered these songs very nicely. I am really impressed about their renditions.”
During the Liberation War of Bangladesh, his composed songs
for Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, Bijoy Nishan Urchhe Oi, Rokto Diye Naam Likhechhi- Bangladesh-er Naam, Aj Rono Saje Bajoye Bishan, Muktir Eki Poth Sangram, Ore Ayre Tora Shon, Ayre Chashi Mojur Kuli, Rokto Chai, Rokto Chai, Aha Dhonno Aamar, etc. This veteran singer was born
on March 14 in 1946 in then British Indian Sylhet. His father Amarendra Chandra Saha was an assistant of a school and owner of a tea garden, Indreshwar-Tea. During childhood, he passed times in tea garden and hilly areas. He became interested in music after hearing morning prayers. Therefore, his younger sister and brother rendered songs at Betar. His parents were also singers of Nazrul Geeti. In 1968, Shujeo Shyam joined at then East Pakistna Chattogram Betar as a guitar player and director of children songs. Later, started direction of
elderly programmes he left Chattogram Betar and joined Dhaka Betar in 1968. On December 16 in 1971, his composed and rendered song Bijoy Nishan Urchhe Oi, which lyrics were written by Shahidul Islam, was broadcasted from Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.
He retired from Bangladesh Betar in 2001 as Chief Music Producer.
