A massive fire caught from an electric short circuit and burnt down the Haq Bastralaya shop at Nolchira Pal Bazar of Panchbag Union at Gafargaon under Mymensingh. Ataul Haque Sohel, the owner of the damaged shop, said that goods worth around Tk 5 lakh were burnt. The blaze broke out around 8pm on Thursday.
Market vendors and people who came said that the shop owner Sohail left the shop locked at 8:30 pm and went home. Suddenly he saw a plume of smoke inside the shop and sensed the fire.
