Shooting of Fakhrul Arefeen’s movie JK 1971 begins

The shooting of National Film Award-winning filmmaker Fakhrul Arefeen Khan’s upcoming movie titled JK 1971 began on September 18 in West Bengal’s Pailan Studio, India, according to a press release. The film is based on a true story, which will give viewers a glimpse into the heroic actions of French
citizen Jean Kay. On December 3,
1971, he hijacked a flight of Pakistan International Airlines at Orly Airport in Paris and demanded that 20 tonnes of medical supplies and relief materials be loaded on the plane so that he could
set out to reach his desired destination – Bangladesh. The movie JK 1971 will revolve around a historic incident which took place during the Liberation War of Bangladesh on a foreign land. Fakhrul Arefeen Khan, who has films like Bhuban Majhi and Gondi to his
credit, has worked with US actor Francisco Raymond and Russian
artistes Derya Guvrosenko and
Nikolai Novominski on the film which stars Subhra Sourav Das and
Sabyasachi Chakrabarty in lead
roles, among 36 other artistes.
