Former Pakistan speed star Shoaib Akhtar sees no problem in Indian captain Virat Kohli’s aggressive attitude on the field and believes it’s the part and parcel of competitive cricket.
Though before the start of the Test series between Australia and India, Kohli promised to not sledge, the attitude slightly changed after the start of the series.
In the second Test match in Perth, the Indian skipper was on the headlines once again not only for his terrific hundred, but for being involved in sledging and heated exchanges with Australian captain Tim Paine.
During Australia’s second innings with the bat, Kohli deliberately collided with Paine and exchanged some words. Since them, the Indian captain has been heavily criticized for his attitude.
However, Shoaib came in full support of Kohli on his Twitter and labeled him as one of the modern greats.
Former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson also criticized Kohli for his attitude and for failing to acknowledge the crowd’s applause after he was controversially given out in the first innings for 123.
