Chaudhury on Thursday laid emphasis on launching awareness campaign across the country to educate people about the harmful effect of tobacco consumption.
“Consumption of tobacco and tobacco products cause different killer diseases……So, we have to create mass awareness among the people,” she made the comments when an anti-tobacco alliance called on her at the latter’s office here, an official release said.
The Speaker said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has declared to make Bangladesh tobacco-free country by 2041 for building a healthy nation.
She urged the people to extend their cooperation to supplement the efforts of the government to build a tobacco-free country.
