Shipyard worker dies of gas suffocation

An incident of gas suffocation happened in a ship-breaking yard in Sitakuda ship breaking zone in Chittagong on Wednesday.
 One ship-breaking worker named Saidur Rahman(30) died of gas suffocation while undergoing work inside the scrap ship at S Trading Corporation Ship Breaking Yard in Madambibir Hat of the upazila .
The victim Saidur hails from Noagaonupazila and son of one Jahirul Islam, police sources said.
Police sources said a gas cylinder was exploded while cutting the ship and the gas engulfed surrounding area inside the ship. With gas suffocation, Saidur became senseless and immediately rushed to Chittagong Medical College where the attending physicians declared him dead. A UD case was lodged with the concerned thana in this regard.
The body sent to morgue for autopsy, police camp sources said.
Packed body of a youth female recovered: Police recovered a body of youth female from New Morring area under EPZ thana in Chittagong on Tuesday midnight. The body was filled in a gunny sack . The body could not be identified immediately. Additional police commissioner (Port) Mostaque Ahmed told that the patrol team of police recovered the body of a female youth packed in a gunny sack lying over the New Morring bridge. Police suspecting that she killed otherwise and thrown in the bridge by the killing gang. The body was sent to morgue for autopsy.
