The Shipping Ministry is implementing 21 new projects at a cost of Taka 17,757 crore in the current 2018-19 fiscal year, said an official press release here.
This was revealed at a meeting on implementation progress of the Shipping Ministry’s 21 new projects approved in 2018-19 fiscal year held recently at the ministry conference room.
Of the projects nine are being by Bangladesh Internal Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), six by Chattogram Port Authority, three by Mongla Port Authority and one each by Bangladesh Inter water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), Bangladesh Land Port Authority and Pyra Port Authority.
Shipping Secretary M Abdus Samad urged the officials of the projects concerned to remain conscious on spending the project fund and complete the projects maintaining their quality.
With Shipping Secretary M Abdus Samad in the chair, the meeting also was attended, among others, by Bangladesh Land Port Authority Chairman Tapan Kumar Chakrawarty, BIWTC’s Chairman M Mofizul Haq, BIWTA’s Chairman Commodore M Mozammel Haq, Pyra Port Authority Chairman Commodore M Jahangir Alam, Chattogram Port Authority member (Adminstration) Jafar Alam and Mongla Port Authority member (Engr) Alataf Hossen.
