Department of Shipping on Tuesday imposed cautionary steps for all water way transport for the safety of home-bound passengers on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The department instructed people concerned to ply all kind of vessels following the grade of masters and drivers, slow down the speed or stop the vehicles during heavy rainfall or inclement weather, said a press release.
They also asked the owners of the vessels to keep legal documents including licenses and not to overload the vessels with extra passengers.
