Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra leaves here for Sri Lanka today (Sunday) to take part in the AFC President’s Cup Football scheduled to be held from May 5-13 in Colombo.
Sheikh Russel KC, which placed in group-A along with Sri Lanka Air Force SC, KRL Football Club of Pakistan and Ugyen Academy FC of Bhutan, will play their opening match against KRL Football Club on May 7.
Sheikh Russel KC will play their remaining group matches with Sri Lanka Air Force SC and Ugyen Academy FC on May 9 and 11 respectively. All the matches will be played at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
Bengal Group Industries is the tour sponsor of Sheikh Russel KC.
In this regard, a press conference was held on Saturday at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) conference room to give details of the tournament. Sheikh Russel KC captain Biplob Bhatrachariya, head coach Dragan Dukanovic and assistant coach Zahidur Rahman spoke on the occasion.
Besides, BFF president Kazi M Salahuddin, senior vice president Abdus Samal Murshedy, Sheikh Russel KC president Nurul Alam Chowdhury, team’s director Habibur Rahman Manu and BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag were present, among others, at the press conference.
