Title aspirants Sheikh Jamal Club were forced to share points with Saif Power Tec football club as their match ended in a pulsating 1-1 draw in the JB Bangladesh Premier League football held on Wednesday afternoon at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Sheikh Jamal settled early as they shot into lead in the very 6th minute play when Charlie Sheringham scored a fine goal with as he nodded superbly off Rahmat Miah’s deft cross to go into 1-0 lead.
Saif power fought hard not allowing their opponent to increase their goal tally and found the cherished equalizer in 23rd minutes as their Ghambian recruit Solomon King made it (1-1) with a gem of a free kick.
The remaining period saw both teams fumbled in front of their rival goal post as the match ended on a 1-1.
Sheikh Jamal with this draw has lost the golden chance to go on top of the points table as they have now accumulated 44 points from 19 outings while their close rival Dhaka Abahani Limited are now leading the points table with a slender lead as they have collected 45 points from 19 matches.
Siaf Power are in fifth place with 35 points.
