Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited eased past Gazi Group Cricketers by nine wickets in their match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground-3 in Savar on Sunday.
Chasing Gazi Group’s paltry total of 157 off 36 overs, Shaikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited sailed home making 160 for the loss of one wicket when they had 141 balls to spare.
Sheikh Jamal made an auspicious start with two openers Shykat Ali and Saif Hasan put on together 99 runs in the opening stand before Saif Hasan was caught by Mahmudul Hasan off Akbar-ur-Rahman.
Shykat Ali remained unbeaten with 77 runs. His 79-ball innings was belted with three sixes and seven fours.
Saif Hasan hit a sparkle 52. His 54-ball innings was laced with nine fours.
Imrul Kayes remained unbeaten with 26. He hit three sixes in his 26-ball knock.
Akbar-ur-Rahman took one wicket conceding 48 runs.
Earlier, No batter of Gazi Group Cricketers could able to make a notable score.
Al-Amin, Farhad Hossain and Mahmudul Hasan added 29, 23 and 20 runs respectively to the Gazi Group total.
Ziaur Rahman and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury of Shaikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited grabbed three wickets each instead of 12 and 33 runs respectively. Ziaur Rahman was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Taibur Rahman, Sumon Khan, Sunzamul Islam and Parvez Rasool took one wicket each for three, 24, 31 and 47 runs respectively.
