Defending champion Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club notched a 9-1 goals victory over lowly Farashganj Sporting Club in the second phase first match of the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
With this record breaking victory, Sheikh Jamal raised their tally to 26 points from 11 matches of the league with eight wins, two draws and one lost to maintain top in the table while Farashganj who did not taste any victory in this season remained in the bottom collected 4 points with seven losses and four draws, also from 11 matches.
Sheikh Jamal DC also set the record highest margin victory in the last season premier league beating Uttar Baridhara by 8-0 goals.
In the day’s match, Haitian striker Wedson Anselme and captain Mamunul Islam Mamu made their hat-tricks scoring four and three goals respectively for the winners while Taklis Ahmed and Gambian forward Landing Darboe raised the tally scoring one goal each.
