To swim in the sea of pure music, after completing Honours and Masters from Nazrul Song from Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology Shawon Gaanwala has devoted his life only with music. This kind of music-lover is found a little bit. In fact, they always remain out of the discussion.
Shawon Gaanwala is a singer, lyricist and music composer at a time. He reached into music-lovers rendering popular songs like Ebhabe Chai, Ichchhey Manush and Tar Chhira Jai. He had his own band group titled Jo-Fola. Five members of this band including him tried to present Nazrul songs in modern way for last three and half years. Now its activities are stalled. According of Shawon, he is trying to activate the band. In last Eid, Shawon’s new song titled Pronoy Chhap was released under the banner of CD Choice. Its lyrics and music were composed by the singer himself. Amzad Hossain arranged its music.
Therefore, Shawon’s play-back song Mrittupuri was also released on YouTube. Sushmita Biswas wrote lyrics of the song while Nagib Haque composed its music. Naumi also lent her vocal with Shawon in the song. Music-lovers liked these two new songs.
Shawon has many dreams with music. While talking in this regard he said, “While practicing music I know dreams of many persons and their visions. But my dream is only to establish myself as Shawon Gaanwala among all. I believe only music I can fulfil my dream.”
Shawon also informed that legendary singer of the Subcontinent Mohammad Rafi is his inspiration in music. Hailed from Chandpur, November 20 is the birthday of Shawon.
Under his music composition D’Rockstar Shuvo, Tahsan Khan and Zooel Morshed lent their vocals. Tahsan’s two popular songs Cholona Harai and Priyo Sukh were composed by him. Shawon’s wife Troyee Islam is a reputed TV host in the country. Besides practicing music, Shawon is also engaged as music teacher at Delhi Public School, Cambridge certified middle school. Shahjadi Chithi is his only daughter, he added.
