Shamsher, Dudu on four-day fresh remand

BNP Vice Chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury and BNP Chairperson’s adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu were placed on fresh remand for four days each in two separate cases on Sunday.
On Sunday, police produced Shamsher Mobin to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on completion of a five-day remand in a case filed with Shahbagh Police Station and sought fresh remand of seven days in another case filed with Bangshal Police Station for alleged destructive activities.
After hearing, Magistrate Zahangir Hossain of the
CMM Court granted remand for four days. Besides, Magistrate Hasibul Haque of the CMM Court yesterday (Sunday) placed Shamsuzzaman Dudu on another fresh remand for four days in one more case filed with Rupnagar Police Station of the city. He was produced to the court for a fresh remand of ten days on completion of a four-day fresh remand in a case filed for hurling cocktails towards a passenger bus in Mirpur area of the city. On January 11, police arrested Dudu from Mirpur area of the city.
Meanwhile, on January 15, Detective Branch of police arrested Shamsher Mobin from his residence of Banani DOHS Road No.1. Later, he was shown arrested in the case filed with Shahbagh Police Station in connection with attempt to murder of lawmaker Chhobi Biswas.
