Shamim Osman, a ruling party lawmaker, has admitted to having a phone conversation with Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the sensational Narayanganj seven murder case.He admitted it before a group of selected private TV journalists at his Gulshan residence on Friday evening.A phone conversation between Shamim Osman and Nur Hossain has been leaked. Private Television Channel 24 broadcast the coversation on Friday.Shamim Osman said: “I repeatedly told Nur Hossain to surrender before the court if you are not guilty. But Hossain did not pay heed to it. I did not suggest him to flee, rather I suggested him to surrender.”He also claimed that he had tried to save Nazrul and six others following the report of their abduction. “I should give up politics as I could not save the lives of my fellows. My men have been killed one after another,” he said. He further said that even his own life is under threat.Shamim Osman also expressed anxiety over the security of Rafiur Rabbi’s life.Rabbi, father of school boy Tanvir M. Twaki who was killed last year, will contest in the Narayanganj-5 by-polls scheduled to be held on June 26.”If Rafiur Rabbi disappears, people will accuse me for that,” he said demanding security for Rabbi. He also called for judicial enquiry into the Twaki murder case.
