The government has decided to bring the citizens aged 30 or above under the coronavirus vaccination program this time. The decision was taken at a virtual meeting of the committee on the Covid-19 vaccination program on Sunday.
“We have recommended lowering the age limit to 18 years, but the meeting decided to reduce the age limit from 35 to 30 for the time being and gradually bring it down to 18 years,” a top government official said.
About four percent of the country’s population has been brought under vaccination so far. The government has so far received 1.69 crore vaccines from various sources, including

3.3 million and 1.1 million doses of vaccines donated from India and China. As of July 17, 11 million people in the country have been vaccinated, of which 4.3 million have received both doses.
