Shakib’s Barishal highest spender in BPL 2022

The player draft of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) was held on Monday, December 27 at Radisson Blu Water Garden in Dhaka. Fortune Barishal has emerged as the highest spender in the draft.
The six franchises had already roped in one local cricketer as a direct signing and three foreign cricketers outside the draft. All the other players including the local and foreign were picked in the players’ draft.
The total expense for organizing Fortune Barishal was BDT 4 crore 28 lakh, premier all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan), Niroshan Dickwella, Danushka Gunathilaka (Sri Lanka), Chris Gayle will be seen to play for the franchise.
Comilla Victorians are in the second place in this list by spending 4 crore 27 lakh. Moeen Ali, Faf Du Plessis, Sunil Narine and cutter master Mustafizur Rahman were included in the team.
Another franchise Dhaka is at number three in the list of highest-spending teams where veteran trio Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah Riyad were added. The total cost to organize the team was BDT 4 crore 1 lakh and Taskin Ahmed’s Sylhet Sunrisers have spent 3 crore 50 lakh.
Chattogram Challengers have spent 3 crore 8 lakh to add Nasum Ahmed, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and England’s Benny Howwel and Khulna Tigers has spent 2 crore 82 lakh, which is the lowest among the six franchises. Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahedi Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe) are the big names in the team.
