World-class all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will play for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka in the last Robin League match of the Nidahas Trophy Tri-Nation Twenty20 Cricket Series at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today. Shakib Al Hasan joined Bangladesh squad in Colombo on Thursday.
A BCB official said, ” Shakib is totally fit. So, we sent him Colombo to play against Sri Lanka.”
It is a good news for Bangladesh as Shakib Al Hasan has come back to cricket. Players of Bangladesh are boosted up after getting Shakib with them.
Without Shakib, Bangladesh only won one match in Nidahas Trophy.
If Bangladesh win against Sri Lanka today, Bangladesh will reach the final.
On the other hand, if Sri Lanka get win against Bangladesh on Friday, Sri Lanka will play in the final.
Earlier, India confirmed their final berth.
Shakib Al Hasan got injury in his finger when he was fielding against Sri Lanka in the final of the Tri-Nation ODI Series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on January 27. Then Shakib was ruled out from Test Series and Twenty20 Series against Sri Lanka. Shakib also missed the matches of Nidahas Trophy before today’s match.
Shakib went to Thailand and Australia for better treatment. After that, Shakib Al Hasan returned Dhaka and joined the training session here. He has been recalled in the squad after he passed in the fitness test.
