Shakib to miss 1st T20I

Shakib Al Hasan will not play in the first Twenty20 International match against Sri Lanka. The first T20 I match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on February 15.
Shakib Al Hasan could not play in the Test series due to injury. Shakib got injury in his left finger during the Tri-Nation series in the last month.
Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said to a local website, ” Shakib may miss the first T20 I against Sri Lanka. But he may take part in the second T20 I against Sri Lanka.”
The second T20 I will be held at Sylhet International Stadium in Sylhet on February 18.
 On the other hand, Physiotherapist of BCB Dr Debashis Chowdhury said, ” I cannot give any guaranty about Shakib’s participation in the upcoming T20 I series.”
Meanwhile, Senior Media Manager of BCB Rabeed Imam said to this Reporter on Sunday, ” I cannot officially say that Shakib Al Hasan will miss the T20 I series. We shall announce about the fate of Shakib soon.”
A BCB source said to this newsman, ” Shakib will not play in the upcoming T20 I series. BCB will officially say about this matter.”
