Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and ‘Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman will not get No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in the rest of the matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which are scheduled to be held at United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September-October this year.
The left-arm all-rounder played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL, while the left-arm pacer played for Rajasthan Royal in IPL. The IPL was postponed on May 2 due to coronavirus outbreak in India. However, the rest of the matches of IPL will take place in UAE.
President of the BCB Nazmul Hassan Papon said, ” Though the rest of the matches of the IPL will be held in UAE in September-October, but Shakib and Mustafiz won’t get NOC from BCB as Bangladesh Cricket team will be busy at that time to play shorter version cricket matches.”
Papon said, ” Bangladesh team will be engaged to play international matches for the preparation of ICC World Cup during the IPL matches. So, BCB will not issue any NOC for either Shakib or Mustafiz.”
He said, ” BCB will give priority to the upcoming international matches. The ICC World T20 is imminent. So, all the international matches are very important for us. I therefore see no possibility to issue NOC for any player.” The cricketers, who have been bought to play Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will not also get NOC to take part in CPL.
The Australia series and England series are knocking at the door. So, no player of Bangladesh will get NOC to play in IPL or CPL.
