Prolific all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for six months for all kind of cricket competitions. Shakib Al Hasan has been suspended for six months for breaching of discipline.Shakib also will not be allowed to play abroad in competitions like IPL, CPL, County Cricket Competitions for the upcoming one and half years. The meeting of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) took the decision at the Shar-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Monday. Earlier, Shakib left the country to take part in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) without taking permission of BCB. Shakib was staying in London before taking part in the CPL. BCB ordered Shakib to return Dhaka immediately. Thus Shakib Al Hasan returned Dhaka on Sunday.BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon, MP said, “Personally I think Shakib Al Hasan is a popular cricketer. He is the best player of our team. But when a star player like him broke the discipline, there is no control in the team. It will be a bad record for the future cricketers of Bangladesh.”During the prohibition period Shakib Al Hasan will also not be able to take part any training camp of Bangladesh National Cricket team. Hasan cannot participate in the CPL. Besides, the all-rounder cannot go to West Indies to play the matches for Bangladesh Cricket team.Shakib will however get all facilities from BCB during his prohibition period.It may be mentioned that Shakib Al Hasan left the country without permission of BCB. Then BCB summoned Shakib Al Hasan to return Dhaka immediately. Hasan sent an e-mail to Coach Chandika Hatururinghe and acknowledged him that he will retire from Test and ODI cricket.Later, Shakib returned home and he denied that he did not take any decision to retire from Test or ODI cricket.Shakib also said, “There was a misunderstanding arose between me and BCB. I hope the misunderstanding will be finished soon.” But BCB has to take disciplinary action against Shakib Al Hasan as the all-rounder breached the code of conduct of BCB several times. Meanwhile, former director of BCB Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu said, “It is a great loss for the country. BCB will be more responsible before taking this decision.”
