Shakib Al Hasan, number one all-rounder in ICC ranking participated in a workshop at Begum Rokeya University (BRU), Rangpur early on Wednesday. This is the first visit of any crickter of Bangladesh cricket team in Rangpur to attend such workshop.
Vice Chancellor of the university and Chairman of the workshop Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO presided over the workshop.
Rashek Rahman, former assistant secretary of Bangladesh Awami League central sub-committee who was present at the event said, “We love Bangladesh, we also love Shakib.” There is a lot of space in Rangpur area and we can bulid an international standard stadium here, he added.
Shakib Al Hasan said, “I feel well to come here. You have all come here as you love me, my play and cricket.” ‘Pray for me, for Bangladesh cricket team and Bangladesh’, he added.
There was a large number of audiance eagerly waiting in the university’s playground from early morning to vist Shakib and enjoy his performance. However, Shakib reached at the stage at about 11.00 am. The audience became excited to see shakib.
To mark the event, There happened a friendly cricket match between BRU Team led by Shakib and Rangpur Division Team led by Rashek Rahman.
