The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will conduct a fitness test of 113 players including ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in a bid to assess the condition of their fitness.
On day one today (Monday), a total of 80 players including Shakib will undergo a fitness test. Later on Tuesday, the rest of the 33 players will attend the fitness test.
The mandatory test is being conducted to determine the fitness levels of players who are expected to be in the draft for the forthcoming Bangabandhu T20 tournament.
While Shakib Al Hasan is in the list of 113 players, Mashrafe’s name was absent. Mashrafe who sustained a hamstring injury during an individual practice session would have to first scan his injured place to determine the extent of the injury.
However the players who took part in the BCB President’s Cup were not called up for the latest fitness test as the board pondered whether their fitness level was up to the mark.
The cricketers are requested to report 30 minutes ahead of their respective test times to BCB Strength and Conditioning coaches at the Indoor Centre of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
For individual safety and as a precaution against Covid-19, the players arriving at the SBNCS premises for fitness tests are further advised to wear masks, maintain social distance and carry their own hand sanitisers.
