False Covid-19 certificate: Shajahan Khan’s daughter denied boarding on a Biman flight

Oishee Khan, daughter of former minister and Awami League presidium member Shajahan Khan, was not allowed to get on board of a flight for London from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday morning after she showed a false COVID-19 negative report.
Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Group Captain AHM Tawhid-ul-Ahsan said the immigration authorities denied the permission to the London-bound passenger to get on board the Biman’s flight BG-001 as they found her COVID-19 positive after crosschecking her certificate online.
Sources said the health department’s staff stationed at the airport allow the passengers to get on board the flights after checking their COVID-19 certificates. However, Oishee Khan entered the airport using the CIP Gate there and went straight to the immigration from there.
According to the directives of the government, passengers intend to go abroad require to show COVID-19 negative certificates mandatorily. Accordingly, the immigration officials seek COVID-19 certificate

from Oishee. At that time, Oishee handed over a COVID-19 certificate to the immigration officials which she was carrying. When the immigration officials crosschecked it, they found that Oishee was a corona infected patient as her certificate was showing COVID-19 positive online. Sensing the forgery of Oishee’s coronavirus cerificate, the immigration authorities instantly asked her to leave the airport.
Contacted, Deputy General Manager (PR) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Tahera Khondker said a passenger was not allowed to get on board the London-bound flight of Biman after she was found COVID-19 positive.
Asked about the name and address of the passenger, she said she did not know anything about it.
Biman’s scheduled flight for London left Dhaka Airport at about 12:00noon on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Oishee’s father Shajahan Khan said that the National Institute of Laboratory Medicine and Referral Centre provided a negative certificate to his daughter on Saturday as she gave her swab sample at Dhaka North City Corporation-installed booth at Mohakhali on July 24.
He said after his daughter returned from the airport his family communicated with the Directorate General of Health Services and they provided another report terming her COVID-19 positive.
He said that he would file a complaint with the DGHS about the matter as he claimed that he was cheated and his social image was tarnished.
