Legendary singer Shahnaz Rahmatullah has stopped rendering song for last seven years. But still now music lovers often want to listen her music. Today is birthday of this legendary singer. There is no special plan to celebrate her birthday. She will pass the day like other days.
While talking in this regard Shahnaz Rahmatullah told this correspondent, “Basically my daily life activities have been changed. Now I pray to Allah most of time. On my birthday, I will pass time with orphans at orphanage. During childhood Amma cooked Polao which we (including siblings) joyfully received. Now I can remember those days.”
Shahnaz Rahmatullah was born in Dhaka on January 2 in 1952. She is daughter of Fazlul Haque and Asia Haque. She received primary training in music from her mother. She was called by Shahin during that time. When she was only 11, she first gave her voice for play-back song in movie Notun Sur in 1963. Then till 1985 she rendered songs continuously. Since 1964 she started singing in Television. In 1973, she tied the nuptial knot with Abul Bashar Rahmatullah.
