AKM Shahnawaj has recently been promoted as Deputy Managing Director of Dhaka Bank Limited. Prior to taking the new role, he was the Senior Executive Vice-President (SEVP) and Branch Manager of Local Office (Principal Branch) of the bank, said a press release.
Shahnawaj started his banking career in 1989 with Arab Bangladesh Bank Limited as a Probationary Officer. In his long 29 years of banking career, he has also served Muslim Commercial Bank Limited (MCB) and Bank Asia Limited.
He obtained his MBA from IBA, University of Dhaka after completing graduation from the University of Chittagong with honors in Economics. He passed SCC from Chattogram Collegiate High School in 1978 and HSC from Chattogram Govt College in 1980 with brilliant result. He attended a good number of trainings, seminars, and workshops on banking, management and leadership at home and abroad. He is also associated with different service clubs of the country, the press release added.
