Under construction Shahjalal Fertilizer project grip of corruption. Corrupted officer including PD embezzled huge fund. They give work to their nominated contractors. They abuse power in this 6000 cr TK project. SO the quality of work and transparency is under question. PM Sheikh Hasina Laid the foundation stone on 24th March 2010 after shifting its inaugural time. M/S Complant of china is the constructing organization. Its time period is 38 month Main plant will be constructed in 52 Area out of 165 acre. Rest area will be used for school, college etc. China give TK 4 Thousand cr to implement the project. Bangladesh invests TK 1500 cr. At present BCC implement the project. In last 10 months they spent about TK 50 cr. Of them for soil test and prepare area TK 11 cr spent. Construction on of admin building Tk 6 cr. Maintenance cost TK 9 cr. For drainage system TK 9 cr. only the works of soil test and siste is finished. Then in rainy season the project affected seriously. For slow work of drainage chinese authority show their resentment.
Brother take the drainage work by nepotism. Source said PD Kamruzzman take cash worth Tk 2 cr from construction. At present brothers try to take another work worth Tk 200 cr. Its implementation period is 38 month. But due to snail’s pace of brothers it is uncertain. In urea plant and balk storage only 20 to 30 works finished. For the slow rate of work drainage system will not complete before rain. For deep digging the drain is not yet finished so land slide will held. For a limited rain bulk storage and main urea plant will be affected. For construction basin plant is established. But it use law quality stone and sand.
An Engineer said at first the sand will be filtered and stone will be processed. But this plant is working without follow this process. PD Kamruzzaman came to Fenchugang but he is not available in the project. Because after his arrival contractors try to meet him. PD was involve to give them work till midnight. An officer of this project said huge corruption prevail here PD Take bribe from all contractor. No matter for the standardization of work.
When contacted PD Kamruzzman said all allegation are false. He said as a big project it is natural that some loss occurs.
