Former Professor of the Institute of Education and Research (IER) of Dhaka University (DU) Dr M Shahjahan Tapan died of old age complications on Wednesday at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital in the city.
He is survived by his wife, one son, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Prof Shahjahan was buried at Azimpur graveyard on Thursday following the Namaz-e-Janaza after Zohr prayers at DU central mosque premises.
DU Vice Chancellor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique expressed deep shock at the death of Dr Shahjahan and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
