Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a social drama that depicts the contradiction between long hours of power cuts and the ironically high electricity bills that dig a hole in the common man’s pocket. It narrates the story of a man’s fight against power distribution companies. Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were shooting for the film in Tehri, Uttrakhand for a long time before they returned to Mumbai after wrapping up almost half of the film’s shooting.
