Shahid Sergeant Zahurul Huq Hall emerged the champions of the Boys’ Group of the Inter-Hall Athletics Competition of Dhaka University (DU) while Rokeya Hall became the champions of the Girls’ Group on Thursday.
Jagannath Hall finished the runners-up in the Boys’ Group while Shamsun Nahar Hall became the runners-up in the Girls’ Group on the same day. The two-day long athletics meet was held at the central playground of Dhaka University. After the competition Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of Dhaka University and President of Sports Board of DU Professor Dr Shahid Akhter Hussain distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) of DU Professor Dr Nasreen Ahmed was with him as the special guest.
President of University Athletics Committee Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
Provosts of the different halls of DU, residential teachers, senior teachers, officials of DU were present at the ceremony.
A total of 19 halls of DU took part in the two-day long athletics competition.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the athletics meet as the chief guest on Wednesday.
