Staff Reporter :A security blanket will be in place in and around the Central Shaheed Minar with taking extra security measures in preparation for smooth celebration of the International Mother Language Day, on February 21.Law enforcement agencies including police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will be deployed in large numbers in Central Shaheed Minar and its adjoining areas from Friday evening to this end.”All precautionary measures are being taken in terms of intensified patrolling, striking forces surveillance to keep sensitive areas under extra care,” Director General (DG) of RAB Benazir Ahmed told journalists about the security steps ahead of the 21st February this year.”Adequate RAB members dividing into five sectors and the coordination with the police forces will keep vigil for smooth celebration of the International Mother Language Day on February 21,” the RAB chief said after paying a visit to the Central Shaheed Minar yesterday noon.Several closed circuit camera televisions (CCTVs) have already been installed in and around the Central Shaheed Minar to make the security foolproof, he said adding plan-clothed police and other members of intelligence agencies will remain active on the occasion.
