Shahed taken to ACC after check-up at BSMMU

Regent Group chairman Mohammad Shahed alias Shahed Karim was taken to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) after a health check-up at the BSMMU for interrogation for the second day on Monday.
Shahed Karim on Monday night fell sick on the first day of his seven-day remand in a case filed over misappropriating money from Padma Bank. Later, he was taken to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) this (Tuesday) morning.He was also taken to the BSMMU on Monday night.
On August 10, a Dhaka court granted a seven-day fresh remand for Shahed in a case filed for misappropriating Tk 2.71 crore of Padma Bank Ltd (formerly Farmers Bank).
On July 27, the ACC filed the case against Shahed and three others with its Integrated District Office-1 of Dhaka.
The others accused are Mahbubul Haque Chisty, former chairman of audit committee of Farmers Bank Ltd ( now Padma Bank Ltd) , his son Rashedul Haque Chisty and Regent Hospital Managing Director Ibrahim Khalil .
