Shanto-Mariam Foundation has organized a solo painting exhibition of world renowned artist Shahabuddin Ahmed at ‘Creative the Art Gallery’ of the Foundation. There were 32 artworks including 25 drawings and 7 paintings are on display in the month-long exhibition.
Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest. The opening speech was given by artist Nasim Ahmed Nadvi and eminent art critic Mainuddin Khaled. The founder chairman of Shanto-Mariam Foundation Md Imamul Kabir Shanto gave the note of thanks on the occasion. The event was coordinated by renowned Tagore artiste Lily Islam.
It is noted that artist Shahabuddin is a recipient of Independence Award and Barcelona Olympiad Art and also a freedom fighter. He is one of the top 50 master painters of the world and he is awarded by the Highest Civilian Honor of France ‘The Knight.’ Vibrant line and dynamic character are the aesthetic features of Shahabuddin’s artworks. His artworks represent the war of liberation, motherland, heritage and culture regularly.
The exhibition will continue till October 27.
