Sheikh Arif Bulbon :
National Film Award winner actress Shabnaz came into discussion to act in her debut movie Chandni, which was released on October 4 in 1991, directed by Ehtesham. During that time, as a pair, Shabnaz-Nayeem became heartthrob among the film-lovers. As a result, next few years they worked as pair and were in discussion among the viewers. On October 5 in 1994, after getting married with Nayeem, Shabnaz reduced to work in movie gradually and later at one stage both of them quitted the film industry.
Viewers last seen Shabnaz on the screen in Azizur Rahman directed movie Daktar Bari, which was released in 2008. Later, she did not see in any movie. After acting in noted drama personality late Abdullah Al Mamun’s drama serial Jonom Jonom, Shabnaz did not see in the small screen. This serial was telecasted on ATN Bangla. Current year Shabnaz has enlisted as an actress in Bangladesh Television.
While asking her about returning to acting Shabnaz replied, “It is true that I get many offers to work in TV drama or movie. But I do not get that type of story based movie in which I can work. I did not quit acting giving this announcement. If anybody writes that type of story for me where I am habituated with my present life, then I can think to work. I am absent from acting for 12 years, so I have not keen interest to return to acting now. In Nayeem and my everyday’s discussion, tales of film life always take place. We also miss those days.”
Today is Shabnaz’s birthday. She has no special plan to celebrate the day because due to Corona she is passing safe times at home now. Shabnaz informed that she will pass the day along with Nayeem and two daughters at home. Her father SM Humayun was a noted drama personality. After watching her father to act in theatre plays, Shabnaz showed her interest to work on the screen. Tania is her nickname. TV actress Tahmina Sultana Mou is her younger sister, she also said.
