Legendary film actress Shabnam is returning to acting after a break of 18 years. She last acted in Kazi Hayat’s movie Aammajan in title role which was her last appearance in the big screen. Later she did not work in any movie but she got many offers.
She could not get any favourable story. Though she started her career in Bangladeshi movies but first came into limelight to act in a Pakistani movie. But several times she acted in Dhaka’s movies.
After a break of 18 years, Shabnam is returning to acting but that is not in big screen. She is going to act in 100-episode serial of Pakistan titled Mohini Mansion Ki Sandrila. Ali Taher will make the serial. Shabnam has already got script of the serial. She will play the role of Shabana Jhorna.
While talking in this regard Shabnam told this correspondent, “Many years I waited to act in Bangladeshi movie but couldn’t get. I did not work after Kazi Hayat’s Aammajan. Later my husband Robin Ghosh passed away. Only son Roni is staying outside the country now. I had been passing lonely times. During that time once Ali Taher sent me script of the serial and I liked it. I have agreed to work in the serial regarding my convenient time.”
Shabnam informed that she will go to Pakistan today to take part in shooting of the serial. She will have to stay for one month there.
Shabnam first acted as a child actress in movie Asia. Later she acted in movies Edesh Tomar Aamar, Kokhono Asheni, Tanha, Bishkonnya, etc. As a heroine, she first acted in Mostafizur Rahman’s Harano Din. Rahman was her co-actor in that movie.
