Seven projects costing Tk 524 cr inaugurated in Chattogram

Minister of Road Transport and Bridges and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader inaugurated the work of seven projects at a cost of Tk 524 crore in Chattogram on Sunday .
He inaugurated the work of the projects at the conference room of the Agrabad Road building . Among the projects are – Chattogram-Rangamati national highway (N-106) from Hathazari to Raujan four lane project at a cost of about Tk 458 crore, construction of Fatikchari Road Sub-Division office cum inspection bungalow project at a cost of Tk 1 crore,
Electronics toll system and weight scale of Shah Amanat bridge, 31.82 meter long PC-guarder bridge project at a cost of Tk 5 crore in the 44th km of Chattogram-Kaptai regional highway, newly constructed 5 lane roads weight scale project in Baro Darogarhat.
In addition, the re-construction of two PC-guarder bridges on the Moijjartek-BFDC- Fisheries port ferighat road and making 1-5 km long bridge more strong at a cost of Tk 30 crore.
The minister also inaugurated the development project of Kashimpur Railway staion- Bagichar hat road’s chainage : 0+000 to 10+0000 km by flexible pavement and rigid pavement at a cost of Tk 30 crore. The minister has spoken at the inaugural program.
Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader said, “We are going to build 6 metro lines in Dhaka at a cost of Tk 52,000 crore. ECNEC has also been approved for the work of Metro 5 at a cost of Tk 42,000 crore. Physical construction work has been completed. By 2030, 6 metroline will connect Dhaka in all directions.
He said the metrolines will also be made in Chattogram on the orders of the Prime Minister. In that regard, I have directed the Roads and Highways to examine the potential. Soon the task of verifying the feasibility will begin.
Referring to the 48 percent work progress in the construction of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Karnaphuli tunnel, the minister said that the project is a priority mega project of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This will be first underwater tunnel in Bangladesh. The Prime Minister herself has inaugurated it. I was with her.
Chattogram will be changed once this tunnel is completed. Referring to the miraculous return from death, Obaidul Quader said, “Everyone has prayed for me. The way I came back is miraculous. I did not think I would return in this way.”
