Seven killed in road crashes

At least seven persons, including a government employee, were killed and 50 others injured in several road crashes across the country on Sunday.
In Manikganj, at least two persons were killed and 20 others injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Shibaloy upazila early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as truck driver Md Saifullah Morol, 30, from Tala upazila of Satkhira, and bus passenger Masudur Sheikh, 26, from Sadar upazila of Faridpur.
Yamin-ud-Daula, Police outpost in-Charge of Barangail Highway said that a Faridpur-bound bus of ‘South Line Paribahan’ collided head-on with a truck around 1am, leaving the duo dead on the spot and 20 others injured.
In Gazipur, a government employee named Israfil, 55, was killed when truck rammed a private car in Gazipur Sadar upazila of the district.
Kamrul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Highway Police Station confirmed the news to the media.
In Dhaka, (Savar) a local fish trader named Jakir Hossain, 65, was killed when a truck hit his vehicle on the Tongi-Ashulia road on Sunday morning.
In Rajshahi, a motorcyclist named Kamal, 30, was killed and two others injured when another vehicle rammed their bike in Joitabtola area under Godagari upazila of the district.
In Barishal, a motorcyclist named Avoy Das, 20, was killed when a truck hit him at central bus terminal of the district town on Saturday night.
