Kalshi incidence: Seven accused on remand

Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court yesterday granted a two-day remand each to seven accused of the three cases filed in connection with untoward incident of Kalshi area in Mirpur early Saturday.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Hasibul Haque of the court passed the order after hearing.
On Sunday, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case and also Pallabi Police Station Sub-Inspector Monirul Islam produced the accused to the CMM Court with a seven-day remand prayer for each of the accused.
 The seven accused are Azad, Arif Hossain, Jewel, Sabbir, Nasim, Shima and Farid.
Nine members of a family were allegedly burnt alive when eight non-Bengali Bihari homes at Kurmitola camp in the city’s Mirpur were torched following a clash between Biharis and law enforcers, accompanied by locals early Saturday. Another, reportedly police bullet-hit man later died of his wounds hospital.
