The Services Kabaddi League will start today at the National Kabaddi Stadium, which is adjacent to the Paltan Maiden. A total of seven services teams will take part in the kabaddi competition. They are : Bangladesh Navy, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence, Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Prison team.
Bangladesh Navy will face Border Guard Bangladesh in the day’s first match, which will start at 4.00pm, while Bangladesh Army will take on Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence in the day’s second match.
The kabaddi meet will be held in single league basis. The highest-point-achiever team will be the champions of the gala kabaddi competition. The kabaddi meet will come to an end through the match of Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Army on July 3.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation Yasir Ahmed Khan will inaugurate the kabaddi meet as the chief guest. Head of Media of Runner Group Wahid Murad and the other officials of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation will be present at the time. Runner Group is the title sponsor of the kabaddi competition.
Reigning champions Bangladesh Navy defeated Bangladesh Army by 26-22 points in the last year’s Services Kabaddi Competition after the coronavirus pandemic. Besides, Bangladesh Navy emerged the champions of the Victory Day Kabaddi Competition, which was held marking the Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
