Teenage stabbed to death in Keraniganj
UNB, Keraniganj :
A teenage boy was stabbed to death following an altercation over playing cricket at Mirerbagh in South Keraniganj Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Maksud 16, a resident of the area. Police said, Maksud locked into altercation with another boy Jony over playing cricket at Balur Math of the area Friday afternoon.
As a sequel to the altercation, Jony stabbed Maksud indiscriminately on Saturday morning, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at around 1pm. Jony went into hiding after the incident.
Zamal Uddin Mir, officer-in-charge of South Keraniganj Police station, confirmed the incident.

Man hacked to death ‘by step-son’
UNB, Gopalganj :
A schoolteacher was hacked to death allegedly by her drug addict stepson in Kashiani upazila headquarters on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Shipra Rani Das, 35, wife of Manoj Kumar Mandal. Manir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kashiani Police Station, said Shipra had an altercation with her drug addict stepson Badhan, a class X student of Asha Alo Kindergarten School, as he demanded some money from her on Friday afternoon.
As she refused to give him the money, Badhan stabbed Shipra with a sharp weapon indiscriminately, leaving her critically injured.
She was rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and then died on way to Dhaka around 11.00 pm.

Man crushed to death under train
UNB, Natore :
A man was killed when a speeding train knocked down him at Naldanga Railway Bridge here on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Gopi Ghosh, 42, a sweetmeat trader. Local people said the Parbatipur-bound ‘Titumir Express’ train from Rajshahi hit Gopi while he was crossing the Naldanga Railway Bridge around 9 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, Government Railway Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

BD nat’l killed
in UAE road crash

A Bangladeshi national was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Sharjah city of the United Arab Emirates on Friday morning.
The dead was identified as Shafiqul Islam, general secreatary of Ajman unit of Awami League.
The injured-Mahiul Karim Ashique and SM Shafiqul Islam were admitted to different hospitals in the city.
Witnesses said, the accident occurred when a pickup van rammed into a private car on the Sharjah-Fujaira road around 11am, leaving three injured on the spot.
They were rushed to Sharjah Al Deid Hospital where Shafiqul Islam died.

2 ‘muggers’ lynched in Khulna
UNB, Khulna
Two suspected muggers were beaten to death and two others injured in a mob-lynch attack during snatching in Mokampur area of Terokhada upazila on Saturday.
One of the deceased was identified as Saku, 38, son of Abdul Jalil, of Siromoni area of the upazila, while identity of another could not be known.
Police said, a gang of muggers riding on two motorcycles snatched Tk 2 lakh 10000 from a local businessman Ashok Karmakar at around 9am in front of Palli Bidyut office of Abdul intersection. When the local people chased the muggers the opened fire towards them, leaving Alamgir Hossain, a village doctor, injured with bullet. Later, four members of the gang were captured by the villagers while the rest managed to flee. The angry mob beat them mercilessly, leaving them critically injured. On information, police rushed to spot and rescued the injured muggers. They were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital where two of them succumbed to injuries.
