The parliamentary committee concerned on Sunday recommended the government to send all social safety allowances directly to the beneficiaries under the Government-to-Person (G2P) system.
It also asked the government for preparation of MIS (Management Information System) Database incorporating all the beneficiaries under the social safety programmes.
The recommendations came from the 10th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare Ministry held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with chairman Rashed Khan Menon in the chair, said a Parliament handout.
Discussing the manpower recruitment in Rohingya refugee camps under various projects by the Department of Social Services, the parliamentary watchdog asked the department to do different activities in the Rohnigya camps with carefulness and importance.
The committee also asked the government for improving the management and strengthening monitoring of three child development centres – Tongi child development centre in Gazipur, Polerhat child development centre in Jashore and Konabari child development centre (Boys) in Gazipur.
Committee members Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Sagufta Yasmin, Nasreen Jahan Ratna, AKM Sarwar Jahan, Aroma Dutta, Shabnam Jahan and Kazi Kaniz Sultana attended the meeting, while State Minister for Social Welfare Md Ashraf Ali Khan joined it on a special invitation.
The Social Welfare Secretary and other high officials from the ministry and agencies concerned were present at the meeting.
