A group art exhibition titled Sence, Perception and Interpretation is being held at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in the city’s Dhanmondi area now.
Eminent artist Monirul Islam graced the occasion as the chief guest. Eminent architect and art critic Shamsul Wares, art critic Moinuddin Khaled, Mario Palma, Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh and Julia Niblett, Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, were among the distinguished guests present during the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition.
Dhaka Artists Group (DAG) comprised of artists Anisuzzaman Anis, Debashis Pal, Fahmida Khatun, M M Maizuddin, Md Abdul Aziz, Md Mahabubul Islam Baabu, Md Zahir Hossain, Rajaul Islam Lovelu, Rezaun Nabi, Shahin Akther Lipi, Syed Mohammad Shamim, Tejosh Halder Josh, and Zaman Mohammed Fakruzzaman aspires to bring forth a painting exhibition titled Sence, Perception and Interpretation where a
multifarious representation of
contemporary Bangladeshi art will be put on display. Established on the basis of individuality, artistry and creativity of its
members in 2007, DAG already has 18 successful exhibitions under their belt.
For this nineteenth exhibition DAG will exhibit a number of paintings that drew inspiration from appreciable art movements and styles like pure abstraction, abstract expressionism,
neo-expressionism, surrealism, realism and semi-realism.
Dhaka Artists Group is well known for its inventive ideas, thinking processes and individual creative expressions. The aim
of the group exposition is to
assemble artists belonging to different age groups, working
on diverse themes and with
different mediums.
The exhibition will be open
to all until May 27. n
