Department of Textile Engineering of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) organized a seminar entitled “Problems and Prospects of Textile Diploma Engineers in the Present Job Market” on Saturday in the Green Auditorium of the University.
Vice Chancellor of GUB, Prof Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir was the chief guest while Md. Mamun-Ur-Rashid, Assistant Manager at TÜV SÜD Bangladesh (Pvt.) Limited was present as key note speaker and he explicitly described different problems and prospects on textile related jobs market both in Bangladesh and abroad.
On this program, heads and representatives of different diploma textile institutes attended and shared their valuable opinions and demands. After visiting all labs of science and engineering faculty of GUB, they highly expressed their satisfaction about GUB’s lab facilities.
On the discussion session different issues like waiver facilities, employment rate of B.Sc. in Textile Engineering degree holders from GUB, benefits of different extra- curricular activities arranged by GUB like PLSD, GIFT, Inner Voice program etc. are effectively discussed. The key purpose of this seminar was to highlight the problems and prospects of textile job market. The seminar also discussed about required steps to be taken to prepare textile graduates effectively to face the challenges of job market. Chairperson of Textile Engineering, Dean of Science and Engineering faculty, Treasurer, Registrar, Director (F&A) of GUB and all faculties of Textile Engineering Department were present in this event.
